An eight kilometre realignment of the Great Northern Highway in Port Hedland, a mining town and iron ore port approximately 2000km north of Perth, opened to the public mid this year and features a range of road safety products from Rocla Barrier Systems.
Safety Barriers WA were responsible for the procurement and installation of the barrier solution, which included W-Beam, modified Thrie-Beam™, wire rope and a range of terminals and crash cushions. Director of Safety Barriers WA, Cyndie Woolcock, said it was probably the biggest non-mining project the company had completed in northern Western Australia.
Chris White, Sales Representative from ACP, said, “The original design had nominated various safety barrier products, but Safety Barriers WA and ACP successfully secured the supply and install contract with John Holland Construction by offering savings based on using products exclusively from the ACP range.”
When asked what she values most from her suppliers, Cyndie said, “Our long-term relationship with ACP and the fact that they work together with us when we need them. They will rally and get behind us. That loyalty and backing of a good supplier is something we strongly rely on.”
Cyndie went on to say, “ACP is always good with achieving deadlines for delivery of product. Their product is of a better quality than competitors, with better quality bolts and stronger posts, which makes it a lot easier to install. Our installers are big fans of it.”
